About Us
Gateway to Science serves as a regional resource for informal science education.
Gateway to Science began as the vision of community volunteers passionate about bringing informal science learning opportunities to people of all ages in North Dakota.

|
In November 1994, Bismarck became the home of the first and only hands-on science museum in North Dakota!
Since that time, we have established a reputation as an educational resource in our community and across the U.S.
Gateway to Science's audience has expanded far beyond the communities of Bismarck and Mandan, North Dakota. Each year more teachers, students and the general public learn about our unique way of presenting informal science, causing our statewide audience to increase.

|
The exhibit gallery is open year-round.
Programs such as our annual Environmental Festival bring teachers and their students together with professionals working in a variety of science fields.

|
It is the goal of Gateway to Science to offer high quality activities and exhibits to teachers, students and the general public.
Gateway to Science offers a variety of informal science learning opportunities, which include interactive exhibits as well as special programs for students, and special events for the general public.
Gateway to Science provides students with opportunities to explore new science principles in ways that are not possible to demonstrate in most classroom settings.
Gateway to Science has joined the No Child Left Inside Coalition in promoting healthy outdoor activities for kids.
